We All Lost But Could Gain

After 9-11, I was fortunate enough to have two small and gentle experiences that helped to heal my faith in mankind.

Much has been written about the 10th anniversary of September 11th. A date that brings forth so much emotion and talk about how you learnt about it, where you watched it, etc. The shock still present in many voices. I wanted to wait until after the anniversary to share some insight with you because my stories come after 9-11.

Stand-up and Let Go!

Last month had a rough start for the coach. A long awaited change came to fruition and the transition wasn't easy. That is all coaching speak for a bad personal relationship had to go, it was time and I had to end it. I had to end it to preserve me. A tough decision none the less.Tough Decisions to Defend Yourself

Could-ah, Would-ah

I admit I can be pretty lazy with my language. I appreciate the importance of good grammar for clear communications. However I rely heavily on Microsoft to help me get it right. And no, I haven't learnt to spell with Spellchecker...it is not a learning tool!

There are two words that I do keep close watch over when I am speaking or working with couples or business partners. They are could and would. Their importance shows up when one person asks another for support or action and doesn't get it.

Flag Waving Maniac!

It was a six month party! Way back in 1988, I was fortunate enough to join 35 other Canadians at the Canada Pavilion during the World Expo in Brisbane Australia. Really the job of a lifetime...good thing it didn't last, I might not have survived the overload of joy.

Who are You Right Now?

Here is my tale...

"Of course you can do it! You always do what is necessary to achieve things." That is what my friend said when I was doubting that I could pass an exam several years ago. This was more than a pleasant comment of encouragement, she knew something about me after 30 years. She was right, I study, dig in and generally dedicate myself to the task at hand. So how come I didn't know that?

Her comments sent me on an exploration of who the heck I was right now and how did I know it.

Flip Your Don't Wants!

If you want change in your life, you have to start getting real about what you are thinking. You only have a set amount of time each day to think about your life because there is only so much time in the day! I like to call that thinking energy. It is renewable energy yet it isn't always used effectively.

Leaders, Welcome to the Dark Side!

As a leader, you have two sides. The side that resides in the light, in your consciousness and the side that resides out of range, on the edge of consciousness, in the dark.

The Natural Leader

There is no denying that good leaders work within the light, living and working with their strengths. They are keenly aware of their strengths and openly acknowledge them. Good leaders will know that their actions come from those underlying talents or skills.
